About the event
Youth Mental Health First Aid (In-Person) with Dr. Quinyatta Mumford
Youth Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based training designed to equip adults with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to support young people facing mental health or substance use challenges. This interactive, in-person course is tailored for anyone who works with or cares for youth ages 12–18—including educators, school staff, parents, coaches, mentors, faith leaders, and community members.
During this course, participants will learn how to:
Recognize the signs and symptoms of common mental health challenges in youth
Understand risk factors and protective factors affecting youth mental health
Use a practical, 5-step action plan to approach and assist a young person in crisis or distress
